NAWBO Greater Raleigh 2016 Award Recipients

Woman Business Owner of the Year: 
Wendy Coulter, Hummingbird Creative Group
The Woman Business Owner of the Year Award recognizes an exemplary NAWBO-GR member who is a demonstrated leader and role model within her business and the community. The nominee demonstrates her leadership skills by example, has achieved entrepreneurial success well beyond the standards of her industry, and has contributed significantly to the well‐being of her community.  

Mary Diener Spirit Award:
Sarah Glova, Reify Media

In honor of our first chapter president, Mary Diener, the Member of the Year Award recognizes one NAWBO Greater Raleigh member for her outstanding commitment to the organization, her support of its mission and vision, and her work to promote the NAWBO brand within the business community. 

Rising Star:
Paige McLaurin, Bookin' Paige
The Rising Star Award recognizes the accomplishments of one NAWBO Greater Raleigh member who has joined the chapter within the last 18 months and who has supported the chapter through active participation in meetings, events and committees; promotion, and networking. 

Public Policy Advocate:
Olalah Njenga, Yellowwood Group

The Public Policy Advocate Award recognizes the accomplishments of one outstanding individual who has engaged in activities that enhance women business ownership through public policy and has supported and strengthened NAWBO's vision, mission, and its presence in the public policy arena. 

Chapter Corporate Partner of the Year:
Karen Albright, BodyLase Skin Spa

A corporation and a key representative will be recognized for their longstanding and proven commitment and financial investment of our NAWBO-GR chapter. The nominee must demonstrate that their company’s values and practice contribute directly to the growth and success of women‐owned business in our local area; and their key representative has actively engaged with our local chapter to support women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power.
