Community Relations

NAWBO’s Community Partners serve and support girls and women in their quest for Independence, Leadership Development, and Entrepreneurial Success.  Participation in a NAWBO Community Partnership is open to any 501c(3) charitable organizations which provide opportunities for often underserved girls and/or women by assisting them with the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.  Through their programs, NAWBO’s Community Partners help girls and women reach their greatest potential and individual achievement.

The Community partnership is limited each year and is a minimum of a two- to- three-year commitment by both the charitable organization and NAWBO Greater Raleigh.

Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Award is our signature project. Each year we provide cash grants to women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

Soroptimist International of Raleigh, NC has been serving Triangle Area Women since 1987, with a mission to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The organization is particularly concerned with providing women and girls with access to education, as this is the most effective path to self-determination.
