Greater Raleigh NAWBO Offers Discussion on Marketing Strategy at January 2014 Luncheon
Emma Battle, Wendy Coulter, Sharon Delaney and Barbara Petty bring diverse marketing knowledge and tips to NAWBO members and guests on Wednesday, January 22.
CARY, NC – Kim Lewey, President of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Greater Raleigh, announced that NAWBO will present Marketing for Growth: Setting Your Marketing Vision and Strategies for the New Year at the January 22, 2014 Greater Raleigh NAWBO luncheon. The program will feature a diverse panel of local marketing experts, including Emma Battle of Three Ships Media, Wendy Coulter of Hummingbird Creative Group and Sharon Delaney McCloud of Greenroom Communications. Barbara Petty of Boom! Magazine will moderate the panel discussion. The luncheon will be held at Embassy Suites Raleigh, 201 Harrison Oaks Boulevard in Cary from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Registration for the luncheon is $35 for members, $45 for guests and $50 at the door.
An innovative marketer with over 20 years of experience, Emma Battle is President and COO of Three Ships Media, a digital marketing company offering search, paid media, database marketing, social and mobile services. Prior to joining Three Ships Media, Emma served as Senior Director, Online Marketing at Red Hat, Inc. where she developed and managed the digital marketing strategy, systems and processes that powered Red Hat’s marketing automation, lead management, marketing analytics, search marketing, and social media success. Emma has also served as owner of Iysis Business Services and VP of Marketing and Merchandising at Art.com, as well as VP of Marketing, VP of Strategic Planning, Director of Operations & Sourcing, and Textile Plant Manager at HanesBrands Inc.
With more than twenty years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising and design, Wendy Coulter is CEO of Hummingbird Creative Group, which she founded in Cary in 1995. Hummingbird is a full-service branding agency specializing in defining brand strategy, developing sustainable brand messaging and implementing marketing tactics through effective advertising, graphic design, sales enablement, public relations and online marketing services. Wendy manages brand strategy for all of Hummingbird’s accounts. Her passion is to help businesses more effectively communicate the positioning of their businesses, differentiate their brands and grow revenue.
Sharon Delaney McCloud is an Emmy Award winning journalist who brings 20 years of media experience to her company’s clients. She reported on the news in markets across the Southeast with her last stop in front of the camera at WNCN/NBC 17 in Raleigh, NC. From the Persian Gulf War to the Super Bowl to hurricanes, ?oods, politics and entertainment, Sharon has covered thousands of stories that have affected people's lives on a daily basis. Now Sharon uses her media experience as Managing Partner of Greenroom Communications, a full service digital marketing company specializing in the creation of premium video content across all landscapes for commercial, corporate and non-pro?t use.
Moderator, Barbara Petty, has spent nearly 35 years in the marketing/communications industry. She owned her own advertising and design agency in California and Phoenix from 1992-1996. After moving to North Carolina in 1996, she became a brand manager for a marketing communications firm before purchasing Fifty Plus Magazine in 2003. Two years into running Fifty Plus, it became clear that the Boomer market was becoming a dominant force in the aging industry, so the magazine shifted focus to be more reflective of the active, engaged, older adult. On March 2006, she launched Boom! Magazine.
“Growing our businesses is a number one goal of NAWBO members,” said Lewey. “This panel is a powerhouse of marketing talent, and I know they will help our members better understand the importance of having long-term marketing vision and strategies, as well as how to implement short-term marketing goals and tactics to achieve greater business growth.”
