Meggan Ciaccia

Montecino & Ciaccia, P.A. is a full service accounting firm serving individuals and owners of small and mid-sized businesses with their tax, QuickBooks, and accounting needs. The firm is known for its expertise in resolving IRS tax problems as well as providing monthly bookkeeping and QuickBooks services to small businesses in all industries, including services, retail, liquor, professional, construction, landscaping, manufacturing, distribution, and many others.

Founded in 1982 as Charles K. Montecino, CPA, the firm was renamed Montecino & Ciaccia, P.A. in 2014 and became a father – daughter establishment. Located in Sewell, New Jersey, the firm serves clients in New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Carena Lemons

Attorney Carena Lemons received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina, where she majored in Political Science with a minor in Psychology in 1998. Attorney Lemons received her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2001. She has been practicing law for more than 18 years in Durham, North Carolina. She has been a general practitioner for most of her career but now focuses her practice in the areas of consumer and small business bankruptcy, employment law, and entertainment law. She is also the host and creator of her own television talk show, entitled "It's Your Life" as well as an actress.

Thomas Schaffer

Thomas is the president and managing principle of Transitions Financial Strategies, LLC a financial planning company. He has been helping Business owners, Individuals and Families prepare and or navigate life’s transitions, some planned, most not, in the Triangle for 15 years.

Thomas received his BA in Economics and Finance from Marist College and his Securities and Insurance education in North Carolina, and is licensed to do business in eight states. He is an Eagle Scout, held a 22 year executive career with IBM, and hasowned a multi-store retail Equipment and Party rental businesshere in the Triangle for four years, before entering the financial planning field. This unique experience of being a corporate employee, executive and small business owner allows him to be very experienced with the unique differences of the financial dynamics of those different demographics. Through his 21 years in the Triangle he is very well connected to many other resources that can assist the business owner in the exit/retirement transition.

Thomas is a founding board member of CZC of North Carolina, an organization that helps children under age 17 grieving the loss of a parent, gain coping skills. He is a board member on the Clayton Rotary and an active committee member in the Clayton Chamber. He is also the President of the Financial Planning Association of the Triangle, and past president of a Toastmasters Club. When he gets time he uses Golf and doing BBQ competitions to relax!


Meet our moderator

Janice Cutler

After several years in the Marketing and Market Research industry, Janice began her entrepreneurial career. Since 1996, she has owned and run 3 Flower shops, building 2 of them from the ground up. In Dec. 2017, she sold the last 2, and is currently serving as the Marketing Director for the stores, and Industry Consultant for the new parent company. She has a B.S. in Marketing and International Business, received her Floral Design and Shop Management Certification from the Southeast Florida School of Design, and studied Horticulture at NC State University.

Over the years, she has volunteered many hours of time serving on the Board of Directors for: The Wake County Florist Association, The Business Leader's Club, Wake County Business Alliance, and 5 terms for our Greater Raleigh Chapter of NAWBO. She first joined NAWBO in 1998, and has continued to build relationships with other Women Business Owners, providing support and mentoring.
